1. An eclectic mix of folk, punk, rock, trance, EDM, pop, house and a lot of things in between.
2. Whatever was on Radio 1 or my dad’s 1970’s T-Rex LPs.
3. Idlewild, Frank Turner, BT, Yellowcard, Semisonic
4. I took my girlfriend to watch Idlewild
5. ‘Baby Come Back’ by Pato Banton on cassette. I do not still have it.
6. Best? BT. I honestly never thought I’d get to see him play live because he hardly ever comes to the UK anymore but not only did he play here but it was in my city. He played all his hits from the mid-1990’s and it was bananas. Worst? Arctic Monkeys hometown gig. Reeled off the hits and played well but no attempts to engage the crowd with banter. If I wanted to just listen to the songs I would have stayed at home and saved some money. Compare them to someone like Frank Turner who makes the audience feel like the 6th member of the band and its chalk and cheese.
7. I’m hoping Angels and Airwaves rebook their cancelled UK tour from last year.
8. Semisonic are releasing their first new album in 22 years in November. I’m hoping they’re planning to tour outside the USA to promote it.
9. Its a toss up between ‘I knew Prufrock before he got famous’ by Frank Turner or ‘We didn’t start the fire’ by Billy Joel
10. Not taking my friend at school up on his offer for free tickets to Stereophonics just before they became popular.
