A Taste of Poetry

This is not my poem but one I found stuck to a lamp-post a few years ago. I have no idea who wrote it originally but thought it worth sharing. If anyone does know please let me know in the comments so I can credit them appropriately.

Sometimes the sun shines

And sometimes it rains

The British weather forecast

Swirling around our brain

Some days are good

And some days are bad

Some days are upbeat

And some davs are sad.

Yer mates will tell ya “don’t be soft”

Give you a dead arm and all is forgot.

Typical old school way of thinkin’

“Best way to fix him is to get him a drink in”

If your day is dark, grey and bleak

Make yourself a good cuppa tea

I give you this advice for free

Grey skies turn blue, I know, trust me

Surround yourself with pals

And people who will listen

Don’t be sitting there in silence

On yer own, reminiscin’
