The UK is a country of many things and one of its defining features for centuries has been its deeply engrained social class system. A mechanic that goes back to times of myth, it is often surprising to find that Great Britain still sits under a society of royalty, nobility, titles and estates.

Whilst it is true that much of these largely-novelty titles contribute to the sense of national identity it is truer still that the working classes of these isles have also suffered under their oppression for centuries. The Monarchy might not wield any real power anymore but the incumbent political party are largely educated at the same private school and come from historically wealthy families with a historic power base of centralised rule from the south-east. The bottom of society living in abject poverty whilst the nobility make themselves richer sounds like something from a medieval history book but it is the very real life of 21st Century Britain.

So, what can we do about it? The UK is a country in dire need of a political shake-up and it is only by dismantling the class system and decentralising the government can it build a fairer society.
