All those internet searches are probably for Avatar: The Last Airbender, an infinitely more culturally important media franchise. So it's worse than even reported.

It's a strange one though. T2, Aliens and Titanic still get brought up as defining pieces of cinema yet Avatar just came and went. There is probably a strong arguement that it's not really a great movie though, a cross between a bad videogame cut scene and Ferngully: The Last Rainforest.
