Apple's advert was not there to crush the art but compress it, to show how far product convergence has come. Would a similar advert crushing utensils that left behind a swiss army knife have the same backlash?
Consider the hypocracy of somebody protesting this advert but typing their backlash on a phone of some kind. I doubt very much it was mashed out on a T9 Nokia number pad whilst they were trying to squash their Walkman, Moleskin, Sony Handicam and a Gameboy into the back pocket of their jeans.
