Apple's biggest competition this year is not going to come from Meta but from Sony. PSVR2 is out next month with a swathe of high-tier games as well as a probable backlog of PSVR ports (I'd be amazed if Rez Infinite and Tetris Effect don't make it over) As far as VR headsets go it actually looks nice too and it uses the same industry-leading haptics and 3D audio as the PS5.

With a buy-in of $1200 (including a PS5), that is Apple's benchmark.

Just as the Studio Display features iOS and an A-series processor I'm not actually convinced Apple's VR headset will be anything more than an iMac with an infinite desktop you wear on your head.
