At the end of the day software drives hardware. If Apple released, say iCloud Photos for Android then there would be nothing stopping many people making the jump. The same could be said of Final Cut and Windows.

Much like games consoles I stick around for the exclusives and that stack is weighted heavily in Apple’s favour for me and many others.
