At the minute it’s what people want to watch. The millionaire creators bottled lightning though. There is no way I, a middle aged man could start a YouTube channel playing Fortnite and end up with my likeness in the game like the best streamers. The peak has gone and the audience isn’t there.
Had I started doing tech reviews when I sold the stuff for a living 15 years ago? Maybe. If I started now? Might be a fun hobby. That last point is the point. For many creators it’s a nice outlet where they get to talk about something on their mind or share a passion. If it makes money, great. If it doesn’t it’s still a bit of fun.
Crucially though no matter your niche you will find an audience. You could have the same 30 people watch your videos over and over but within that group you’ve found your tribe.
