Blockchain and NFTs could help eradicate a lot of state bureaucracy. I had to send in 10 different forms for my son’s first passport application. These ranged from grandparent birth certificates to marriage ones. This process took 3 months of back and forth posting things around the country where even with delivery tracking things can get lost or stolen.

Had all these documents existed as NFTs on a government-backed Blockchain the process would have taken less than 5 minutes to complete using anonymous handshake protocols.

I often look at the wider web3 though and wonder if its not just Web1 with an entry fee.

I’d love to know your opinion on whether or not Web3 solves anything that Web1 did not already deal with? If I rent some server space and a URL am I not free of the corporate overlords of Amazon and Google?
