"Content Creators" will go where the audience is to rack up the most views. They are unreliable as a games media because they are not interested in covering the widest variety of software but one particular piece of software (Roblox, Fortnite, Minecraft etc) in depth. Unless companies go out of their way to pay them directly to push their new game they won't cover it. As this is what they do for a living, can you blame them?

Mainstream gaming media isn't so bad. Eurogamer, the Hookshot sites (Nintendolife, Pushsquare, PureXbox) are ok. This is probably helped somewhat by the UK-based nature of these sites as they tend to veer towards an amusing-but-serious writing style historic of the british gaming press.

I'm not a fan of the editorial nonsense Polygon and Kotaku publish but this is just me and I am sure others will disagree.

For anything serioius though I will pick up EDGE Magazine.
