David, I think you've hit on some really interesting ideas in this article.

The more I explore computer science the more I draw comparisons between the idea of God as a programmer rather than a creator.

God by their very nature must sit outside of the universe just as a programmer sits outside of theirs.

If the inhabitants of a virtual world could scratch beneath the surface of their world they would find the underlying source code, mathematical law, procedural generation algorithms and processes that make it tick. Humanity scratched beneath the surface and found the same things.
