David, if you’re doing anything other than CAD and video the base model will be fine.

If you plan on pushing it then doubling the base storage and RAM is a good bet. That comes in at £1799. Doubling the storage gives you a 2xSSD setup which has faster read/write speeds which is faster for encoding video.

Some people will tell you that the equivalent spec MacBook Pro is only £50 cheaper. I would ignore these people. You still have a 13” display and a heavier machine plus its the old Touch Bar design (which I don’t mind but I know some people will have a problem with) A 16” MacBook Pro with the same RAM and storage is an extra £1000!
