Does the browser even have a future? would be my first question.

Younger people tend to gravitate towards well designed apps with websites being something you need for some information. Rather than use a URL they will just type 'BBC' or whatever into Google.

Parents are quite happy to let kids do this because it protects them from the wild west of dodgy websites and terrible internet advertising (because all web ads are terrible) where the article you want to read is layered behind 10 videos you don't want to watch.

This will only accelerate as time moves on. In 30 years the web browser will seem as antiquated as VHS and the network moves on to its natural endpoint as a utility powering apps, services and devices.
