Don’t forget the economic downturn. With less disposable income coupled with rising streaming service prices, consumers are being extra picky about what they keep hold of.

Netflix have an advantage of age and are kind of a ‘default’ for most households. Amazon have their other deals: free shipping and so on.

Where does this leave others? Customers won’t turn back to Cable but won’t sub for extra services.

Their only chance is to eternally licence things to Netflix. Sony had the best idea of staying neutral and doing just this.
