Every medium has its snobs but gaming is perhaps the worst. The derision some gamers show to people who just play Call of Duty and FIFA, those who *shock* actually enjoy IAP-filled mobile titles or kids who just play Minecraft is beyond a joke. They will outright refuse to play anything that 'isn't a real game' to their own detriment.

I still think Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is one of the most profound pieces of art I have ever experienced but I also play Fortnite with my friends every week, replay Secret of Mana once a year and still think (based on the 5-6 times I have tried to get into it) The Outer Wilds is the most overrated title made in the last 10 years.
