First off I think you praise MKBHD too much and put yourself down. He’s obviously very good at what he does but he falls into the usual tech-tuber trap of talking too much about stats, benchmarks, nanometers and regurgitating Apple’s PR gumph. I worked in tech retail for a good few years and am still the go-to guy for a lot of people and they don’t give a monkeys’ about stats; they just want to know what its like to use in everyday situations.

I turn to you because you’re the ‘tech reviews for normal people’ guy who skips the hyperbole and actually gets it there and uses products in normal life (eg your Pixel 6a test whilst on holiday) We already know the camera is great and its fast.

Given you’re not under any NDA with Apple why not carry on this way, ie take it out for the day out to Warwick Castle and see how apps are, what the battery is like doing things people actually do like burning the camera, are the buttons easy to reach, is the island jobby actually useful and so on.

I’d also recommend doing a similar thing with the Watch Ultra by maybe going up to the Peak District or even just for a walk around Birmingham. Crucially it would be nice to see someone review the thing apart from the iPhone, ie does the increased battery life mean it can cope with a busy urban environment or hike in the hills without being coupled to something else. Are we finally at the point we don’t need a phone and can just use a smartwatch to navigate everyday life?
