Flip side: Battery life is the one thing stopping the Apple Watch (or any smartwatch really) from supplanting the phone as the default communication paradigm. It has all the benefits of a phone (communication, payments, assistant) and non of the negatives like ad tracking, social media and distractions like games.

But they solve that this year with the Ultra model which will sell a bucketload to people who want an all-day 5G battery as much as the other gubbins.
