Glass ultimately failed because people did not like the idea of having a camera pointing at them all the time. (This gave rise to the infamous ‘Glassholes’ moniker) This might seem oxymoronic given how prolific camera are in society but if someone if pointing a phone of DSLR in your direction you know about it.

Glass didn’t fail because it wasn’t a decent device. If anything that tiny HUD is exactly the sort of hardware a properly portable AR device should be: fashionable and discreet. You could remove the arm and add it to any pair of glasses by the end.
