If you enjoyed Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy I'd thoroughly recommend Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers and Better than Life, 2 novelisations of british sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf written by the shows' creators.

They flesh out the series immensely but still retain the same core sense of humour.
