Hardware is thankfully only one half of the equation and we normally get a few iOS points mentioned for new devices that are also available on slightly older ones. This might be the year that Apple finally release manual camera modes on their Pro devices for example and there would be no reason these wouldn’t filter to at least the 14 lines. I mean they added it into Final Cut for the iPad….

They also normally announce some exclusive apps that demonstrate some new functionality that will inevitably work with older hardware.

So am I excited for tomorrow? Absolutely!

Not for what the devices are though but what they can do. App parity and OS features are something that seems to get glossed over in the Android vs iPhone hardware comparisons but they are really what it’s all about.
