Here in the UK we have this weird mishmash of imperial and metric where fizzy pop (soda) and other water-based drinks are sold in litres and beer and milk still come in pints! Real estate and construction work in square metres and yet all road signage is in miles and football pitches are in yards.

I work in an Engineering facility and all work is done in metric (mm/kg etc) and yet we still refer to standard pine lengths as 'two by two' despite indeed not actually being 2" square.

Whats weird is we are never taught at school or otherwise how to convert between the two!
