How To Work From Home When You Normally Don’t
And better react to short-term changes in circumstance. — Winter can be a fun season, what with all the festivities and pancakes but it also carries with it the increased risk of illness and harsh weather. Despite best efforts to prepare, all it takes is a few inches of snow to grind cities to a halt. Schools and workplaces become meltingpots of bacteria, eager to have its own festivities with your immune system. Whether its school closures, poorly kids or being unable to start the car in the morning, there are plenty of circumstances that can force you to work from home. This isn’t possible for every worker of course, but if you can get something done during the day it saves you using up vacation time and keeps the boss happy.
In any case how do you do it? Its been a few years since Covid and you might have redecorated the spare room. And if its just you out of the office your day won’t be filled with zoom calls or the constant eyes of middle managers trying to justify their existance. Things will not be as you remember but it doesn’t have to be the nightmare it might seem. Lets get one thing straight from the off though: if your kids require constant cuddles or you have something akin to the Flu then you shouldn’t be working at all.
