Humanity has this habit of only really deciding to do something when it can see the very real consequences of its actions and the fires, flooding, droughts and weather patterns aren't yet enough.

The hope I suppose is that rather than finding a way to avert it we find a way to reverse it because in reality this is the only way its going to happen.
