I can kind of see Apple's point. Looking at their website and the Play Store listing all it seemed to do was present a slightly different way of visualising the same information the core calendar app does. Whilst there is nothing wrong with this, I can see how it falls under Apple's 'doesn't do anything' description.

Andrew, you've never been anything but 100% right on the 30% issue. I own iOS games from 2008 that someone else can still buy and install in 2024. I could not say the same about even PC titles from that era.
