I can only imagine how long this took you to write, Anthony. A great comparison of the strengths of both platforms. Whilst it is true that in the past the Mac was the default for the creative industries, these days there isn't much that you can't do on one over the other. I still believe that the quality of exclusive indie desktop software on the Mac is generally better than Windows (Pixelmator, Ulysses, Things etc) but this is personal preference.
I used to sell consumer electronics for a living. Back in 2006 it was pretty easy to point out why someone should buy a Macbook over a Vaio or HP but the gap has closed.
What I will say for the Mac though is there are a couple of small things that I think win some points back! Without resorting to a 3rd party plugin there isn't anything as convenient on Windows as Quick Look. The Mac Preview app makes editing PDFs a breeze and, despite not having a default 'snap' feature I still think Expose is better at window management :)
