I do wonder if the iPad Mini wouldn’t be the ideal travelling companion to the MacBook Pro? You’ve mentioned in the past how it’s great for writing notes on by hand and typing on it is actually quite pleasant.

Apple’s software keyboard for the iPad doesn’t get enough praise IMO. I very rarely take my MacBook Air out anywhere and my iPad Pro everywhere. I have a slim Logitech keyboard for typing as I don’t like keyboard cases but I find the software keyboard to be fine for most things.

This would give you all the editing power you need and a smaller device for blogging and note taking.
