I don't think it's the prices but the value that needs to change.
Classic retail 101 states 3 price points: Good, Better, Best.
In this way you provide value to the lowest spenders, ensuring they come back. You then provide a but more value for those looking to spend a bit extra. You then treat your top spending customers to the best you have to offer. This was the way Jobs ran things.
These days Apple instead has started to remove value from almost all their lowest priced products to upsell more customers to the next machine. This is the Tim Cook line of thinking.
Look at how the base iPhone 15 doesn't have things like a zoom lens or VRR compared to the similarly priced Galaxy S23. Or how the cheapest Macs only have 8gb of RAM. Or how the Max iPhone doesn't have any exclusive software features.
I think they could get away with doing all those things and yet they do not.
