I don't think there is anything wrong with a Chromebook for the aforementioned tasks (or even the base iPad with a keyboard case....) but for the love of mother earth please, please do not ever ever ever buy an Acer computer.

I used to sell laptops for a living and we had more Acer computers returned with faults than any other brand. Friends that worked for other electrical retailers had the exact same experience.

Buy an ASUS or HP instead.
