I feel for you losing your phone functionality like that. For every tails a head I suppose.

I have had the opposite experience on the iPhone 11. I find the new Focus features to be brilliant for switching the entire phone layout for work or when travelling and, via the WatchOS9 beta switcheable by just changing the watch face.

But yes, it is worth mentioning the caveat that this is beta and can give you as much a bad experience as good.
