I find the proposition quite fascinating. It always struck me that maybe this theoretical ‘dark matter’ that apparently must exist somewhere to balance out equations does not in fact exist; its just the missing matter is beyond our range of detection.
We assume the universe is a certain age due to how long the light from the farthest stars has taken to reach us but what if there are stars beyond this limit where the light hasn’t reached us yet: how would we ever even find out without sitting around waiting for it to get here?
I’m not a physicist but I do enjoy spitballing these sorts of questions with people who know a lot more than me.
