I find the whole prequel trilogy a lot easier to swallow if seen as the story of Obi-Wan rather than Anakin anyway. Ewan Mcgregor was undoubtedly a highlight of the whole trilogy. He genuinely looked like he was enjoying himself making them, an obvious fan of them from being a kid.
