I found the rewrite to be quite good. I threw a half-hour research note transcript at Apple, Gemini and GPT. Apple took its time but did it offline. GPT did the best job and Gemini choked out an error.

Their lack of server-side processing may well be their undoing. The object removal on Google Photos is incredibly good compared to Apple.

I do wonder if Apple will leave it alone. They could do a whole marketing campaign about ‘real’ photography vs the AI manipulation of the competition and make a real dent in Google’s mindshare attempt.
