I have a feeling that generative AI and the new Pencil will go hand in hand. It could lead to some incredibly creative scenarios, especially if it can do it all on-device. AI eats RAM so it might be only certain older models that can do it on-device with the rest needing cloud support.

On a side note I think the EU is being unfair to the iPad. It could be argued that users are 'locked' into iPadOS because the competition is so terrible. The tablet market isn't like phones where you can pick a viable alternative from Samsung, Sony, Huawei or Google; the app situation on Android tablets bloody awful and most of the hardware is just as bad.
