I have respect for Dawkins because, rather than succumbing to fundamentalism he has come to his own conclusions based not only on his decades as a scientist but also being brought up in the church.

I find him an interesting opposite to Simon Conway Morris, Chair of Evolutionary Biology at Cambridge and noted theist. Morris follows the pattern of many 19th century scientists and believers who started to peer behind the veil to understand how their deity might have made things.

At the end of the day we must operate the ideas of Schrodinger: God by their very nature must exist outside of space and time. There is no way to prove or disprove their existence; it all comes down to belief.
