I like where your thinking is going, Dirk.

I have always been a big proponent of AR as an industrial technology and indeed see it as the next step forward for those workplaces.

IOT and AR are due a convergence over the next decade as the glasses needed to light the spark become smaller and fashionable (that last one is the biggest hurdle). AR devices will pull data from IOT chipsets across a vast spectra leading to a more open set of interactions (like a web browser pulls web data across an agnostic web)

VR I only see having niche use cases. I don't think a 3D internet will ever take off because, well history has taught us text is still the most efficient communication standard and the reaction from the pandemic has been lets get back to meatspace rather than lets continue in a virtual one. Its industrial applications are myriad for training purposes.
