I think Apple have hit a home run with the iPad 10, to the point it makes the Air model a wobbly upgrade. For 99% of what a user might need the 10 suffices. It also has that lovely kickstand keyboard.

The pencil situation is controversial to say the least. Teardowns show Apple could not fit the magnetic Pencil 2 chargers in the chassis due to the landscape camera. Rumours were abound they actually had a new stylus called the 'Apple Marker' which had no pressure support but drew power through the screen like the Samsung S-Pen.

This was scrapped at the 11th hour for whatever reason. This was just a rumour but the unwieldy charging of the Pencil 1 does seem to support the idea.

Personally I think its not really an issue. $30 gets you a USB-C charging 3rd party pencil from Amazon which is cheaper and just juices up using your iPad charger. The battery lasts for weeks.
