I must say I really enjoyed your article. Like many my age it was videogames that were the catalyst for an interest in Japanese culture, mainly history. Japan seemed like a million miles away but the more I read into it the more I saw that, as a citizen of an eccentric island nation myself we actually weren’t so different.
