I read a great interview with, I think it was David Morales or Roger Sanchez maybe, back in the day where he described the human heartbeat as the very first House track.

This stuck with me for years. Drumming echoes that sound. We find it comforting because our mothers’ heart is the first beat we ever hear.

There are some great electronic tracks that use a heartbeat-style loop as a backing. Teardrop by Massive Attack comes to mind
