I remain unconvinced at this point. Stage Manager seems like it takes the side-by-side view and just makes the viewports smaller just for the sake of having a windowed interface. That and a permanant dock would be a nightmare on an 11" model. In other words it is the exact same system we have now, just with a lick of paint.

I maintain that people who have a real problem with the iPad's multitasking are just regreting the fact that they should have just brought an M1 Macbook Air. I use an 11" 2020 Pro model for work every day and have never had any issues with the current multitasking method. That new black M2 Air looks tasty though....!
