I see a LOT of hyperbole clickbaot across medium and the internet at large and this is probably the first one I actually agree with.

Disney as a corporation spins on feeding us a constant banquet of nostalgia whereas Disney the idea is well and truly buried. This is a company that released a film like Lightyear into theatres (which I did enjoy admittedly) but relegates a potentially oscar-winning movie like Seeing Red onto its streaming service.

I dislike the movie and dispise the book but maybe Ernest Kline was right in Ready Player One: new ideas have died on the alter of nostalgia?
