I still like OneNote. It gives me all the advantages of a note-taking app together with the canvas of a whiteboarding app like Concepts.

Evernote is brilliant and it was probably the first notes app I used on the OG iPhone back when cloud syncing wasn't even a thing. I brought several of their moleskin notebooks and even still have a water bottle knocking around somewhere; I was a sucker for their branding.

But the cost has become difficult to stomach when the company is looking shaky. I want to support indie companies but I also want security and piece of mind. It would be useful if they supported automatic manual backup to an external cloud provider.
