I think it has more utility as a work device than one for pleasure. I tried to make the iPad Mini work but I just found myself using my iPhone or frustrated at the lack of screen estate. I have an 11” M1 iPad Pro for work and I use it all the time for all sorts of things as I have a very varied job. In a lot of ways I prefer it to the Mac.
