I think the iPad sits just nicely as Apple's sub-£1k computing line and is one of their few products that fits into the good/better/best product category. To put it another way if you buy the lowest price model you don't feel like Apple is short-changing you into upgrading. With its Fisher Price colour schemes I'd argue the 9G model is actually nicer than the 10G and there is maybe 1% of tasks an A-series processor cannot accomplish.
