I think the only new game I've actually finished this year is Starfield. Forget the terrible story and the space magic and you have a very engaging, open ended space RPG. The Space Pirate storyline is one of the best side quests I've played in years.

Since then I've just gone back to comfort food. I played through Fable 2 and 3 again and have now moved on to the ultimate cosy brainless winter title: Earth Defence Force!
