I think this is only one piece of a puzzle that will result in a move towards greater localism and community projects. National governments don't want to spend any money and municipalities are on a shoestring.

By coming together and embracing IOT tech at a local level we can all contribute towards making our neighbourhoods cleaner and safer. A local credit system that sits on a Blockchain could provide a reward for participation that can be redeemed at village shops or for other contributions eg I kept the trees in good order and earned enough points that a neighbour kindly came around and mowed my lawn.
