I think you make a lot of great points, Matthew. I still have my old Aperture discs in the hope that I find an old Powerbook somewhere to install it on but my photography is not lessened by its loss; Photomator has largely filled the void and interfaces right back to my iCloud library.

I do wish Apple would build a new version though, if only as an iPad and iOS exclusive for its top-end devices.
