I use an iPad Pro as my main work computer as well. Its incredibly flexible and I use it for all sorts, from LiDAR scanning a site to then produce CAD plans to drawing individual map icons for the fantasy maps I laser cut on the side.

But if I didn't need LiDAR then the iPad Air would be just as good for everything else.
