I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't admit that I have post-processed many images over the years; I just think there comes a point where it becomes a crutch. Again, if someone's livelihood relies on it then go nuts!

I've seen some wonderful photoshop work where someone took 7-8 images of their own and edited them to create a fantasy scene they could never have otherwise created. I edited out an entire crowd of people to isolate a bride in one shot: https://500px.com/photo/1048914457/the-lonely-bride-by-carl-james

But then for every truly great collage there are a thousand movie posters where I cannot help but think 'would it have been that hard to take a cast photo?' or maybe just hire an artist instead?

For me technology has helped in the raw creativity area, for example the Google Pixel phones have a wonderful 3x3 panorama mode that creates some exquisite wide angle shots you'd never get with a lens and camera like this: https://500px.com/photo/1010088170/life-happens-wherever-you-are-by-carl-james
