I’d buy one tomorrow!

I would really like to see them at least bring the whole thing back as a launcher for Android. This would be a safe option, allowing them to plug in all their services but backend to the Play Store. They could even partner with certain companies to give it deeper integration at a hardware level, perhaps a brand like Nothing.

But sadly it was more than just a launcher. Windows Phone 8 had speed. It was a lot faster than iOS or Android at the time, even with the jazzy animations like the way Bing would just fold in from the edge. Games were all stored nicely in their little Xbox app and had console integration with achievements and leaderboards. The People Hub nicely bundled Twitter and Facebook and allowed you to see posts from just one person.

I really do miss the thing.
