If dApps were to replace every traditional web app or site wouldn’t this require every node on the blockchain to store every single dApp, effectively the entire internet being copied across multiple computers?
Now I’m not an expert on this so feel free to shoot me down but this sounds like the most ineffective use of storage since Joey’s refrigerator. Unless the network relied upon a torrent-led base (whose speed is dictated by the number of nodes online) to lower the amount of storage required per node you’d end up with every user needing terabytes of storage. This would be taken up with ever more dead apps as each new update requires an entirely new instance to be published.
What I’m getting at is that currently the blockchain is an incredibly inefficient data storage medium. This is why NFTs are just hyperlinks to traditionally hosted images rather than the images themselves; they just take up too much space and each new owner would require an entirely new image.
